Being in business alone is hard. You wear multiple hats, you task yourself to the end of the world and somehow you always have something new to add to the list. If you are a solo-entrepreneur you know that life. You love it and You love meeting people who are doing the same thing you are in their own unique way! It inspires you to keep growing! I love meeting empowered women especially in this industry!

1. Who is Alex?
Hey!!! I'm Alex!! I'm a Microblading Artist who wanted to bring more to the industry. I've been in the beauty industry for 6 years, specifically Microblading and PMU for 5 years. I love all things brows and business but also love spending time with my husband Graig and puppy Miley.
2. How did you get your start and introduced into the PMU world?
About 6 months into doing lash extensions, I started seeing more and more Microblading, and instantly fell in love! I loved the natural look of the hair like strokes, so I signed up for my first Microblading course, and never looked back. Since then I have done much more education, learning more PMU skills, but Microblading still holds a special place in my heart, it's my favorite service and that's part of the reason I created BrowTab in the first place.
3. You teach, You have a product line, What inspired you to start and open?
The start of BrowTab goes back to my very first model at my first microblading course, I was of course nervous as we all are, and was fumbling around trying to put together the pen and the blade, and honestly that's what I found to be the hardest part of the appointment. At the end of the course our educator told us about pre-assembled microblading pens and I was so happy to hear this news! After a quick search I came to realize that at this time- 5 years ago- there were very few All in One Microblading pens on the market and what was available was either extremely expensive or very poor quality. From that day forward I was on the search for something better, and this turned into a plan to create and design my own Disposable Microblading pens, which in turn led to launching BrowTab. As for teaching I have always loved to share knowledge, it literally gives me joy to share what I know with others, so that they can learn and grow. So teaching Microblading, as well as Brow Business Education seems like a natural fit for me.
4. If you could go back in time, what Advice would you give yourself as a new artist in the industry?
Patience and Practice!! Be patient with yourself and your growth. It's easy to compare especially these days with Instagram- we are always seeing what other are doing, but it is important to remember that we all start from the bottom. It's like that quote- "don't compare your beginning to someone else's end" or even their middle. Enjoy each step of the journey, and be patient with yourself- it takes time.
Practice!!! This is so00 important, practice as much as you can, get in as many models or clients in as you can. Once you know the basics, the only way to grow is through practice and experience, so get your blades in as much practice skin and real skin as you can. Same goes for mapping and color theory- the more you do it, the more comfortable you'll feel and the better and faster you will become.
